NOVUS Metrology Laboratory renews the CGCRE/INMETRO accreditation during an unprecedent remote audit

Performed every two years, NOVUS Metrology Laboratory went through an audit in the last week of October, aiming to renew its CGCRE (Inmetro General Coordination of Accreditation) accreditation. In this edition, the index of accomplishment to the requirements of the laboratory standard was 93 % higher compared to the 2015 evaluation, a performance that shows the evolution of the specialized team. According to the Scope of Accreditation, the accreditation is a formal recognition of its competence in performing calibration activities.

An essential evaluation to offer metrology services, the result guarantees the conformity of the procedures performed by the laboratory, the traceability of the measurements, the competence of the people, and the reliability of the management system. The approval with indexes higher than the previous ones has been reflected in the excellent index of customer satisfaction.

Remote metrology auditing

The recently performed auditing was the first one carried out remotely by the CGCRE/INMETRO team at NOVUS Laboratory and involved the sector team and collaborators from the following areas: Quality, Human Resources, IT, and Sales.

According to Welington Silva, Metrology Manager at NOVUS, “Maintaining the CGCRE/INMETRO accreditation ensures that we can meet the general requirements for testing and calibration laboratories, according to ABNT NBR ISO/IEC 17025:2017.”

With this accreditation, the services offered by the laboratory are recognized and valid in Brazil and in more than 70 countries. NOVUS holds the CGCRE INMETRO Accreditation Certificate and is a signatory of the Mutual Recognition Agreements of the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC), the Interamerican Accreditation Cooperation (IAAC), and the International Accreditation Forum (IAF).
